CRABWALK ('IM KREBSGANG') FACTOID

Here is something quite interesting about the English version of Im Krebsgang (Crabwalk) by Günter Grass.

The book on the below right is an "Uncorrected Proof" (ie: an early, pre-finalized, and rare version of the book).  Note that the sinking ship (clearly NOT the Gustloff) on this cover has three funnels clearly visible.  At some point, someone must have realized that the Gustloff only had one funnel.  Two of these funnels were "airbrushed" out for the finalized cover (below left).
